I’m now ready to release the Me’gusta theme next week and can’t describe how excited I am. I really think this is the most advanced theme, currently available and am eager to share it with you. My past themes are already advanced and professional, but this one is so easy to use, I’m actually afraid you won’t use our other themes anymore =)
Things I was working on this week:
- Two days were wasted due to lame hosting service. I was ready to switch this site to dedicated hosting service, but then found out it is actually slower than current one and costs $800/year more, wtf?
- Squashed all known bugs inside Me’gusta theme and its framework.
- Tested and set up API management system instead of version control, available before. This means that there will be only one theme for all versions (free, standard, agency, club), so it’ll be easier for me to update it and you to use it. Let’s say you want to test the free version, so you set up the basics. If you want more, you simply buy the license key, enter it inside theme admin and you have full-blown version out-of-the-box.
- Tested and configured the framework to play nicely with the upcoming WordPress 3.1 version, which is probably 50% faster than 3.0.1.
Things to look for next week:
- Me’gusta theme release
- Documentation update
- Promotional pricing for Me’gusta

Exciting news~! Can’t wait to try it out.
Question:
How does license work for club if (and when) club membership gets cancelled?
I have dozens of sites for smaller clients setup using your themes. If I upgrade the framework, then next year sometime decide that I no longer wish to be a club member, what happens to the sites already using the license key?

License is checked only once, when you enter it inside theme admin. If it’s valid, you’ll pass without problems. Club license will also work on all of your projects, whereas standard and agency will only work on purchased themes.
Even when you cancel your subscription you’ll retain agency level options and goodies (just not access to our support and forums). Obviously, license key will not work if you’ll try to use it after your subscription is expired or cancelled ;)
I hope this isn’t received as a bad thing, as my intention was to simplify the process of theme transition and upgrades. There will be only one theme version, so if you want to upgrade from standard to agancy or club, you don’t need to replace the whole theme folder, just enter new API key.

Okay, so just to be clear. License is only valid for new web projects IF and ONLY IF the subscription is live? So if subscription is canceled, the themes cannot be used anymore for new projects? I don’t remember reading that in the license, so I just want to be sure.

This is actually explicitly written inside pricing page: http://bizzthemes.com/pricing/:
What happens if I cancel my Club Subscription?
After you cancel your club subscription you won’t be billed again and your themes will not be available anymore. You will also lose permission to access our support forums. If you want to re-sign for our Club subscription you’ll need to pay the one-time sign-up fee again.
I understand your concerns, but this is no different to the way currently system works. But, to calm you down, I’ll give you a license key for any of our themes that were available to the date your club subscription was last active – just send me a mail.
Željan Topić says
I was just thinking about your concerns and think it shouldn’t be hard to modify license script to allow you to use your club license key, even when your subscription is cancelled -> obviously, for themes that were available, when your subscription was last active ;)

Me’gusta is out in a few days, just a few polishing details and small bug fixes – you’ve probably noticed a beta version inside your account :)

Nothing changes. License key will work for all themes that were available, when your club subscription was last active.
