As you probably noticed, our website is now a lot faster, simpler and usable. Almost everything has been optimized to the limit and should offer common users much better surfing experience. This website took me 3 days to build, which wouldn’t be possible without our new Me’gusta theme framework. With dragging & dropping widgets, building our site was also very fun and gave me a lot of understanding of how new framework works in practice and what I need to do to make it simpler and even better.
What has changed?
- BuddyPress is gone and simple forum is used instead (Why did I get rid of BuddyPress?)
- Site is faster than ever (from 6.8 to 0.3 seconds – test from San Francisco)
- Design is similar but much simpler and unobtrusive, without unnecessary scripts
- SEO has been refurbished and now relies on our own framework
- Core of Me’gusta framework has stayed intact
Still to do?
- Affiliate program coming in a few weeks
- Polished membership and sign-up pages
- Super search for our forums
- Docs for new framework
